Grease-Frankie Vallie

Hoy de nuevo la película Grease (que todos vimos más de una vez… vamos que de media como 5 al menos). Y nada mejor que la canción con la que empieza y que da nombre a la película. Fue escrita por Barry Gibb de los Bee Gees e interpretada por Frankie Vallie en un segmento animado que recrea la época de los 50 en Estados Unidos con todos sus detalles de la cultura pop significativos y hasta alusiones a la Guerra Fría. Frankie Vallie fue vocalista del grupo The Four Seasons, uno de los grupos más destacados de la década de los 60.

La canción habla del amor adolescente, que la gente mayor no lo entiende, pero que es amor por el que hay que luchar. Me gustaría poner el vídeo con los subtítulos de la canción, pero no lo encontré. Os dejo el vídeo sin subtítulos y la canción traducida abajo. En cuanto encuentre la canción subtitulada, la subo.

(En la traducción la palabra Grease es Vaselina. Para mí gusto, el término no necesita adaptación al español y Grease es Grease sin más. También hay quien la traduce como brillantina y creo que es la traducción más correcta, ya que se refiere a ese producto que se echaban los chicos en el pelo para que brillara. En España, al menos, la vaselina es otra cosa).
